How much do you charge for services? +

The initial 15-minute consultation is free. The self-pay fee for an initial psychiatric diagnostic evaluation is $250. Ongoing self-pay visits are $120. If you are using insurance, your cost will be based on your plan’s copay, coinsurance, deductible, or other applicable fees for each visit.

Is the first call really free? +

Do I have to come in person? +

No. Cura Mental Health is fully virtual. Appointments are provided through secure telehealth for patients in Washington and Texas.

Who do you see? +

Cura works with teens ages 15 to 17 and adults. Care is available to patients located in Washington and Texas.

How soon might I see a difference? +

Every person responds differently. Some people notice shifts within the first few sessions, while others need more time as the treatment plan is adjusted. Cura focuses on steady progress, careful follow-up, and making changes when something is not working.

What happens during the first appointment? +

Your first appointment is focused on understanding the full picture. Justus will ask about your symptoms, history, current concerns, what you have already tried, and what you want support with now.

Is treatment only medication? +

No. Medication may be part of the plan when it makes sense, but Cura also focuses on education, practical coping strategies, and helping you understand what is happening so your care feels clear and collaborative.

Do you prescribe controlled substances? +

No. Cura Mental Health does not currently prescribe controlled substances. When appropriate, Justus can discuss non-controlled medication options and other treatment alternatives.

What conditions do you treat? +

Cura treats depression and mood disorders, anxiety and panic disorders, ADHD, PTSD and trauma, bipolar disorder, OCD, stress and burnout, sleep difficulties, substance use disorders, schizophrenia, and psychotic disorders.

What if I do not see my condition listed? +

You can still reach out. Not every concern fits neatly into a short list. If something is affecting your mood, focus, sleep, relationships, or ability to function, it is worth a conversation.
